Raymond was the organist and Director of Music at Hillside Methodist Church for 44 years and retired in October 2013. Over that time he composed four musicals, plus many hymn tunes. He is an Associate of the Royal College of Organists.

1988 Samuel, the old testament story, featured on BBC Northwest, re-written in 1996 for children and staged at the Guild Hall Preston, and the newly built Bridgewater Hall, Manchester raising £31,000 for the NCH.

1992 Francis, the story of the famous Saint from Assisi, re-written and staged a the Bridgewater in 1999

1998 The Small Woman , based on the true story of Gladys Alywood and of the film "The Inn of the Sixth Happiness"

2000 Anno Domini a musical whirlwind history of Christianity. Individual songs may be used during worship.

Garden Openings 2017

PUBLIC GARDEN OPENING for the NGS Saturday 8th July, 11.00 am – 4.00 pm, cream scones and drinks available, wheelchair access, plants for sale, entrance £4, children under 16 free, plenty of parking. There are a few places available for selected afternoons from the 5th – 15th July 2-4pm.

The garden openings and Raymond's Talks have raised over £85,000 for various charities over the past 12 years.
